Whad'Ya Know? For December 30, 2000
Hour 1 :00 - If you don't usually check out the program opening, you will want to hear this one. Michael is trying to write some lyrics with a little help from singer Glen Campbell...then opening, sponsors, and "the man who claims he is Sheriff Joe's body guard....." :02 - All The News That Wasn't : 13 - Guest Interview - Musician Glen Campbell :24 - Glen Campbell plays and sings a Jerry Reed tune, "A Thing Called Love." :27 - It's tough to follow a pro like Glen, but John, Jeff, Clyde and Dan (sitting in on saxophone) give it a try with this jazzy tune. :36 - Michael heads into the audience for a lesson on cowboy hat etiquette. No, you don't wear it in the house, on an elevator, or on a airplane. Next you need to learn how to hold it during a radio show. Listen for hat tricks and the Tumbleweed Christmas Tree as Michael meets folks from Phoenix. :45 - The Whad'Ya Know? Quiz with Mark and Gail. It's a tough Quiz but Mark and Gail know about the "Father of Phoenix," disaster and crime reporting, plus Barry Goldwater's playtime habits. Play along and maybe you'll win a Sun Devils T-shirt, too. Hour 2 :00 - Program opening, sponsors, and "the man who has been offered a teaching job at the Thunderbird School of Management...." :01 - Guest Interview - Louise DeWald, author of the Arizona Highways Cookbook :21 - The boys in the band are in a holiday kind of mood. Get the spirit of the season with "The Christmas Song - Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire." :24 - Guest Interview - Dave Walker, Columnist for the Arizona Republic :38 - A cowboy poet and a famous singer are waiting for Michael in the audience. The rhythm of the trail gives rise to the poetry and living with Peter Lawford gives rise to something else. Listen in and meet Mason and Vic in the audience. :42 - Whad'Ya Know? Quiz with Kate and Joe. The answer is "Breck Girl," okay? Just say Breck Girl and let's get on with the Quiz. Then you can test your knowledge of the Miranda Rights, headaches, and other stuff that Kate and Joe don't seem to know about... :51 - It wouldn't be a road show without some local music. Listen in as the Suicide Kings get the place a rockin' with "From the Cradle to the Grave." Thanks, Phoenix!
