The Place To Be

Walla Walla Fort Walla Walla Museum with Curator James Payne
April 1, 2000

Pioneers survived the brutalities of the Oregon Trail to reach "the land of many waters" in Walla Walla. Then, they had to deal with a nasty massacre around 1850 (no, it was more of a killing than a massacre). It was a tough life and you can see it first hand with a trip to Fort Walla Walla. Descendants of the survivors will show you the rigors of life during the mid-1800s, but don't arrive until the first, the Fort is closed until then.

Listen inListen in as Michael gets a dose of Pioneer life.
