Thanks for the Memos

Stack of Memos Some time ago, about 1985, someone sent a memo from a hospital pathology unit, which described the conversion of the men's toilet into a doctor's office and the domino effect it had on the elevator's transformation into the autopsy dressing room. Needless to say, I was hooked: "Thanks for the Memos" was born.

Since that fateful moment I have received (which is not to say kept, as it quickly begins to get ridiculous) some six or seven thousand memos. This section is dedicated to the pursuit of memos. Browse our offerings and be sure to send us your own additions.

Grackle problems in Austin
July 1, 2000--Rebroadcast of June, 1996

Propane-powered noise crackers will be fired every 5 minutes to keep the birds from roosting. Look for the staff in the orange vests if you have any questions. There will be no risk to people or property, and the intent is to disturb the birds and encourage them to move along. And don't worry, it's only for an hour a day.

Hear Listen in the memo from this week's show.
